Trinity Boring Solutions is one of Oklahoma’s established directional boring and underground utility contractors. We have been in business for over 60 years and we operate a fleet of more than 10 Vermeer and Ditch Witch HDD rigs across the state. We work on the full range of underground utility projects: residential site utilities, commercial development boring, municipal water and sewer main installation, gas pipeline crossings, fiber optic conduit installation, and major river and highway crossings.
If you want to build a real career in the underground utility industry, Trinity Boring Solutions is the place to do it. We offer consistent, year-round work in an industry that does not go away. Oklahoma is growing and utility infrastructure has to be built and maintained. Our crews are busy because the demand for our services is strong and sustained. When you join our team, you are not signing up for seasonal construction work or project-by-project uncertainty. You are building a career with a stable, established company.
We take safety seriously. Every crew member completes OSHA training before they operate equipment or work in excavations. We conduct regular site safety meetings, maintain our equipment to high standards, and follow all Okie811 and ODOT requirements on every project. Working safely is not a preference at Trinity Boring Solutions. It is how we operate every day.
We also offer advancement opportunities. HDD operators are among the most skilled and highest-paid trades workers in the construction industry, and we develop that skill in our crew members through on-the-job training and mentorship. Whether you come to us as an experienced HDD operator or as a motivated laborer looking to learn the trade, there is a path forward at Trinity Boring Solutions.
Open Positions at Trinity Boring Solutions. Oklahoma Boring Jobs.
HDD Operator. Ditch Witch and Vermeer Rigs.
We are looking for experienced horizontal directional drilling operators who can run Ditch Witch JT922 and Vermeer rigs on Oklahoma utility boring projects. - Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Bore Crew Laborer. Underground Utility Construction.
Bore crew laborers are the backbone of every job Trinity Boring Solutions completes. If you are strong, motivated, and want to learn the directional boring trade, this position will teach you the business from the ground up. You will assist HDD operators with job site setup, pipe staging, pit excavation support, drilling fluid mixing and management, pipe connection and pullback, and post-bore cleanup. You will be part of a professional crew completing real utility work on Oklahoma job sites every day.
What we are looking for:
- Construction labor experience a plus but not required
- Interest in learning directional boring operations
- Physical ability to lift, dig, and perform outdoor manual labor

Project Estimator. Directional Boring and Underground Utility.
Trinity Boring Solutions is looking for a project estimator to support bid preparation and project planning for directional boring and underground utility projects across Oklahoma. This role reviews project plans and specifications, quantifies boring scope, prices material and labor, and prepares competitive bids for municipal, commercial, and utility company clients. - Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple bids simultaneously
What Working at Trinity Boring Solutions Looks Like.
A typical day at Trinity Boring Solutions starts early. Crews meet at the Yukon shop or at the project site depending on proximity, review the day’s work scope, confirm that Okie811 locates are complete and utility markings are in place, and prepare equipment for mobilization. On large projects with multiple bore locations, multiple crews may be working simultaneously at different sites across the state.
On a bore day, the crew excavates the entry and exit pits, sets up the HDD rig, performs the pilot bore, reams the bore hole to the required diameter, and pulls product pipe through. Depending on bore length and soil conditions, a complete bore can be done in a single day or may take two to three days. The operator and locator work closely together throughout the pilot bore to track the drill head’s position and steer the bore path accurately to the exit pit.
Between bores, crew members maintain equipment, clean up job sites, and prepare for the next project. Our work is not monotonous because every project presents different soil conditions, crossing lengths, pipe types, and site constraints. The variety keeps the job interesting and builds skills quickly across a wide range of boring scenarios.
Our field crews are supported by a management team that handles permitting, scheduling, client communication, and equipment procurement so that operators and crew members can focus on the field work. We do not leave crews without the permits, materials, or equipment needed to complete their work. Good project planning is part of how we respect our people’s time and effort.
Equipment Training at Trinity Boring Solutions.
Trinity Boring Solutions operates Vermeer and Ditch Witch HDD rigs, mini excavators, mixing systems, and hydro-vac equipment. For crew members who come to us without prior HDD experience, we provide hands-on training under the supervision of our experienced operators. New crew members start by assisting with pit work, pipe staging, and drilling fluid management, progressing to operating equipment as skills develop.
For aspiring HDD operators, the learning curve is real but manageable with the right attitude and attention to detail. Operating a directional boring rig requires spatial awareness, the ability to interpret locating data, fine motor control of the rig’s drill head steering, and understanding of how soil conditions affect drill bit performance and drilling fluid pressure. These skills develop with practice and mentorship from experienced operators.
We also support OSHA training for all crew members. OSHA 10-hour training is provided for new hires who do not already hold it. For crew members who want to advance into supervisory roles, we support OSHA 30-hour training as well. Safety certification supports personal advancement and ensures our crews are trained to the standards our clients and ODOT require.
Equipment manufacturers including Ditch Witch and Vermeer offer factory training programs that we encourage and support for key operators. Factory training provides deep technical knowledge of specific equipment models that supplements field experience and makes operators more effective at diagnosing and addressing issues in the field.
Benefits and Compensation at Trinity Boring Solutions.
Trinity Boring Solutions offers competitive wages for all positions. HDD operators are among the highest-paid equipment operators in the construction trades, and our pay reflects that market reality. Specific rates depend on experience, equipment qualifications, and role. We can discuss compensation directly during the application process.
Year-round work availability is one of the most significant benefits of working in the underground utility sector. Unlike roofing, painting, or certain civil construction trades that slow down significantly in winter, directional boring work continues throughout the year in Oklahoma. Water line breaks need to be repaired in January. Gas line crossings have permit windows that do not respect seasonal preferences. Our crews stay working through the Oklahoma winter because our clients need us to.
We also offer advancement opportunities within the company. Bore crew laborers who demonstrate ability and commitment can advance to equipment operator roles. Equipment operators with strong skills can advance to lead operator and crew leader positions. Estimating and project management opportunities exist for those who combine field knowledge with organizational and communication skills.
At Trinity Boring Solutions, you are working for a company with a 60-year track record in Oklahoma. That history means something: we have survived economic downturns, adapted to changes in the industry, and built client relationships that generate repeat work year after year. When you come to work for Trinity Boring Solutions, you are joining a stable operation with a real foundation, not a startup chasing a market trend.
The Oklahoma Boring Industry Job Market.
Oklahoma’s infrastructure is expanding. Broadband deployment programs funded by state and federal programs are driving thousands of miles of fiber optic conduit installation across Oklahoma’s rural and suburban corridors. Municipal water systems across the state are replacing aging water mains using trenchless methods to avoid road damage. Gas utilities are extending distribution networks into growing communities. Electric utilities are undergrounding power distribution in flood-prone and storm-impacted areas.
Skilled HDD operators and underground utility workers are in high demand across Oklahoma because of this expansion. The supply of trained operators has not kept pace with the growth in demand, which means compensation and advancement opportunities for skilled boring workers are genuinely strong. Getting into the HDD trade now, while the industry is growing, positions workers for long-term career success.
Trinity Boring Solutions is well-positioned to take advantage of this market growth. We have the equipment capacity, the certifications, and the client relationships to pursue large-scale projects across Oklahoma as the infrastructure buildout accelerates. New crew members who join us now will grow with the company as the business expands.

Frequently Asked Questions About Jobs at Trinity Boring Solutions
Common questions from candidates interested in directional boring and underground utility careers in Oklahoma.
Do I need prior boring experience to apply for a job at Trinity Boring Solutions? +
No. For bore crew laborer positions, prior directional boring experience is helpful but not required. We train motivated people with the right attitude and physical capability to do the work. For HDD operator positions, we prefer candidates with some prior HDD experience, but we consider candidates who have operated other heavy construction equipment and have the aptitude to learn directional drilling. Send your resume to darren@trinityboringsolutions.com and describe what experience you have and what you want to learn.
Is a CDL required to work at Trinity Boring Solutions? +
A CDL is preferred for HDD operator and hydro-vac operator positions but is not an absolute requirement for all roles. Many of our field crew members drive company equipment to job sites, and having a CDL significantly increases your utility and opportunities within the crew. For bore crew laborer positions, a standard Oklahoma driver’s license is sufficient. We encourage crew members without CDLs to pursue them, and we may assist with CDL training for the right candidates.
What is the pay range for HDD operators in Oklahoma? +
HDD operators in Oklahoma typically earn between $28 and $45 per hour depending on experience, equipment qualifications, and project type. Experienced operators running large-diameter rigs on complex projects can earn at the high end of that range or beyond. Overtime is common in the boring industry because projects have completion deadlines that require extended hours during active bore operations. We discuss specific pay rates with candidates during the application process based on their qualifications and the specific role.
Does Trinity Boring Solutions provide OSHA training? +
Yes. Trinity Boring Solutions provides OSHA 10-hour construction safety training to new crew members who do not already hold it. We pay for the training because OSHA compliance is a company requirement, not just a personal credential. For crew members advancing to lead roles, we support OSHA 30-hour training as well. Completing OSHA training on your own before applying demonstrates initiative and makes you more competitive as a candidate.
Is boring work available year-round in Oklahoma? +
Yes. Directional boring work in Oklahoma is generally year-round. Water, gas, fiber, and electric utility installation does not stop in winter. Oklahoma’s mild winters compared to northern states allow boring operations to continue through the cold months with appropriate crew preparation. The main exceptions are periods of severe weather or frozen ground conditions that make boring unsafe or impractical, but these are typically short-duration events. Our crews expect and receive year-round employment.
What equipment does Trinity Boring Solutions use on Oklahoma boring projects? +
Our HDD fleet includes Ditch Witch and Vermeer directional boring rigs covering a range of bore sizes and lengths. We operate the Ditch Witch JT922 for mid-range and larger bores, along with smaller rigs for residential and commercial utility work. Our support fleet includes mini excavators for pit work, drilling fluid mixing systems, hydro-vac units for potholing, and pipe fusion equipment for HDPE product pipe. Crew members who join us will get exposure to and training on multiple equipment types as part of normal operations.
Where does Trinity Boring Solutions work in Oklahoma? +
Trinity Boring Solutions is based in Yukon, Oklahoma, in the western Oklahoma City metro area. Our primary service area includes the Oklahoma City metro and surrounding communities. We also mobilize to Tulsa, Lawton, Enid, Stillwater, Norman, Edmond, and other parts of the state for larger projects. Crew members should expect most work to be within 1 to 2 hours of Yukon, with occasional longer-distance projects that may require overnight travel.
How do I apply for a job at Trinity Boring Solutions? +
Send your resume and a brief description of your experience to darren@trinityboringsolutions.com. Tell us which position interests you, describe your relevant experience, and let us know when you are available to start. You can also call (405) 409-7423 to introduce yourself and ask questions about open positions. We respond quickly to candidates who show initiative in following up on their application.
What are the physical requirements for boring crew positions? +
Bore crew positions require physical fitness for outdoor construction work. Crew members must be able to lift 50 pounds or more repeatedly, work in varying weather conditions including Oklahoma summer heat, stand and walk on uneven terrain for extended periods, and perform tasks such as digging, pipe handling, and equipment setup. HDD operator positions are less physically demanding than laborer positions because the operator sits at the rig controls during drilling, but operators also assist with site setup and equipment maintenance that requires physical capability.
Is there opportunity to advance from laborer to HDD operator at Trinity Boring Solutions? +
Yes. Many HDD operators in the industry started as laborers and learned to operate on the job. Trinity Boring Solutions develops crew members who show aptitude and initiative into operator roles over time. The path from laborer to operator requires learning the equipment systems, developing locating and steering skills, and demonstrating consistent judgment on the job site. There is no fixed timeline. The best crew members advance when they are ready and when positions open. We prefer to promote from within when qualified candidates are available on our existing team.
